Some Exhibition Backstory

I thought that a little backstory to some of the shots in my exhibition might be called for… So here goes!

These fine Highland Cattle and their friends  live on Shawford Down for part of the year.   The are used to keep the scrub down and the thinning of the thick grass caused by them allows space for the wide variety of wild flowers that grow on the Downs.   The work they do cuts down on the need for ground clearing.

These huge creatures are incredibly gentle and mild mannered, although they have been known to be spooked by dogs.
